SIZES AND DISTANCES IN SPACE – TEACHER MODULE PLANETARIUM ACTIVITY

Grades: Middle School - High School
Subject: Sizes and distances in space – teacher module

    Description:
    Intended Learning Outcomes
We all know the universe is very large. But exactly how large is it?
What is the definition of a light year?

    Summary
Our solar system has eight planets and we will visit them all.
This is not simple task, since we have to travel vast distances, overcome dangerous cosmic radiation and know how to navigate in the vast space at tremendous speed. It turns out that this journey requires complicated planning and is quite dangerous.

Let's embark on an imaginary journey through our universe, get to know the celestial objects in our astronomical neighborhood and try to get a sense of the vast distances and sizes in space. The journey will take place as we watch from the spaceship window and take a picture every "jump" to the next order. Now we are moments before departure…Get ready!
